Each month at Blackstone, we have a kindness project that all of our students participate in. Our motto at Blackstone is “Kindness Begins With Me” and we want to model to our students how to do kind deeds for others.
For the month of April, we have chosen to do something kind for the Illinois Valley Animal Rescue (IVAR) in Peru. April 30th is National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day, so we would like to do something to support such a great organization. From now until Friday, April 26th, we will collect donations at Blackstone for IVAR. Items that are needed at IVAR that your family could donate include:
Canned Dog Food (regular or grain free)
Bagged Dog Food (quality regular and grain free)
Purina Cat Chow Complete (blue bag)
Purina Cat Chow Gentle (purple bag)
Purina Kitten Chow (yellow bag)
Friskies Canned Cat Food (Pate Mixed Grill)
Bottled Water
Paper Towels
Bleach
Liquid Laundry Detergent
13 and 39 gallon trash bags
Disinfectant Wipes (no lemon scented)
If you would prefer to send a cash donation, please put it in an envelope and write IVAR donation on it. We will use money collected to go towards items that the shelter needs.
