Annual Budget September 16, 2022
Last night, the Mendota Elementary #289 Board of Education adopted this year’s fiscal budget.
In summary, this year’s budget is projected to have deficit spending of about $70K. This is after last year’s surplus of $628K. Over a two-year period that includes $4.2M in HVAC and roof work, the District is slated to put more than half a million dollars in the bank! That is definitely another reason to celebrate the start of this wonderful school year.
When our fiscal year ends on June 30, 2023, we are projected to have about $9.1M in reserves. Considering that our normal operating costs of running the District for the school year is about $15M, this means that our reserves total roughly 60% of our normal operating costs.

Anoche, la Junta de Educación de la Primaria #289 de Mendota adoptó el presupuesto fiscal de este año.
En resumen, se proyecta que el presupuesto de este año tenga un gasto deficitario de alrededor de $70K. Esto es después del superávit del año pasado de $628K. Durante un período de dos años que incluye $4.2 millones en HVAC y trabajo de techo, el Distrito está programado para poner más de medio millón de dólares en el banco! Esa es definitivamente otra razón para celebrar el inicio de este maravilloso año escolar.
Cuando finalice nuestro año fiscal el 30 de junio de 2023, se prevé que tengamos alrededor de $9.1 millones en reservas. Teniendo en cuenta que nuestros costos operativos normales para administrar el Distrito durante el año escolar son de aproximadamente $15 millones, esto significa que nuestras reservas suman aproximadamente el 60 % de nuestros costos operativos normales.
