L.E.A.S.E. will be holding free preschool screenings at First United Methodist Church, 100 E. Sixth St. Mendota on Tuesday, April 11th in the morning. You may make an appointment by calling Jean at 815-433-6433. The screenings are for children who are 3 or 4 years old. L.E.A.S.E. will screen key developmental areas such as motor development, speech, language, vision, hearing and general readiness. All children must be screened to be considered for the Mendota District #289 Preschool Program. If your child is currently enrolled in the Mendota District Preschool for All Program, he/she does not need to be screened again. Applications for Mendota District #289 Preschool will be at the screenings. The applications and screenings will be reviewed by the preschool team, and you will be contacted as to whether your child qualifies for preschool. Mendota Elementary District#289 offers three need-based programs for three and four year olds: One is a Developmental Program for students who qualify for Special Education Services due to a significant delay in one or more areas and two PreSchool for All Programs that are funded through a State Grant and have specific qualifiers as “need-based” programs.

4th grade families, A reminder that tonight is the 4th grade music concert at Northbrook in the gym. Both the front and back doors to the school will open at 6:30pm. There is parking in the back if you want to enter through the “band room” door #6. The concert will start at 7:00pm. The students are ready and so excited to show you all the music they have been working on. The concert will last approximately 30 minutes. See you tonight at Northbrook! Las puertas delantera y trasera de la escuela se abrirán a las 6:30 p.m. Hay estacionamiento en la parte de atrás si desea entrar por la puerta #6 de la "sala de la banda". **Menu Change** Monday (2/27) and Tuesday's (2/28) menu days have been flip-flopped. Monday will now be Chili Cheese dogs and Tuesday will be chicken.

Dear Lincoln School Families- This is a friendly reminder for those families that take part in Lincoln School's academic after school program. Dear Lincoln School Families: We have a busy week at Lincoln School! Book fair- The book fair will be going on all week, so feel free to send book fair money with your student(s). The book fair will be open from 8:30-2:30 through Friday. Open House- We are looking forward to seeing everyone on Wednesday from 5:30-6:30 during our open house! The book fair will also be open from 5:30-6:45 for those families who are interested in purchasing items. The book fair is located in the Old Gym. Thursday- Purple/Gold Day- Come dressed up in purple/gold and/or your MHS apparel . Go Trojans! Friday- Lincoln School Spirit Wear Day. Last day of the book fair.
