The district’s final fundraiser of the year kicked off on Friday, January 26th. Back by popular demand, we will be selling Nothing Bundt Cakes. Each cake is $6 and they are very delicious! All orders will be due on Monday, February 5th. Cakes will be delivered on Thursday, February 15th. Blackstone School is raising money with this fundraiser to be able to provide fun activities for our students at the end of the school year. Last year our students enjoyed a cookout picnic lunch, bounce houses and many other fun activities. We appreciate your support with the Nothing Bundt Cake fundraiser!
Our last January spirit day was held on January 24th. It was ”Warm and Cozy Day.” Thank you to the students and staff that participated! The next school spirit day we will have will be on February 8th. For the 100th day of school, we’re encouraging students and staff to dress like they are 100 years old. This should be fun!
Yearbook order forms recently went home with students. The Prek-4th grade yearbook is on sale for $16.50 through February 29th. Students can return their order envelopes or yearbooks can be ordered online at www.inter-state.com/order with the code of 84066B. Please note that this order link and code is not for Northbrook students in grades 5-8. They have a different code.

Mendota 289 School District is pleased to announce that
we will begin using the Raptor Visitor Management System in all of our
schools to strengthen our program of campus safety for students and
staff. Part of keeping students and staff safe is knowing who is in our
buildings at all times and the Raptor system will allow us to do that. The
Raptor system will better allow us to screen visitors, contractors, and
volunteers in our schools and provide us with a safer environment for
our students and staff. Please review the flier for more information about what to expect when visiting our schools.
For our November kind deed to the community, the students at Blackstone made placemats for Thanksgiving dinner at Stonecroft and Allure. We hope the residents and their families enjoy the artwork. Pictured are the students in Mrs. Mikolasek and Mrs. Kramer’s classes showing off what they did.
December menus are posted. Check out all of the awesome breakfast and lunch options for the upcoming month!
