Monday, Oct., 26 begins Red Ribbon Week!
ADM representatives Stacey Sadler and Tom Schaefer stopped by Northbrook this week as part of the ADM Cares program, which benefits non-profit organizations globally. The ADM Cares program provides Kynd Kits and monetary donations to nonprofits to increase food security and invest in our school community.
A HUGE thank you to ADM, Stacey, and Tom for their charitable contributions! Their generosity will allow us to stock Northbrook's food and clothing closet.

Next week we are celebrating Red Ribbon Week at all M289 schools! Red Ribbon Week (October 23–31) is all about empowering our kids to make healthy, safe choices for their minds and bodies! It gives students a fun, positive way to learn the importance of staying drug-free and taking care of themselves and their friends. Please join us in celebrating Red Ribbon Week!
There will be no after school program on October 20 or 22. The after school program will resume on October 27.

For the last few weeks Mr. Scheppers, Ms. Henkel's, and Ms. Kibilka's enrichment RtI's have been helping Mendota ADM with their Kynd Kits. Kynd Kit's are an all-inclusive volunteer project packaged in a box by the non-profit organization Project Helping. Each box contains all the supplies, materials, and step-by-step instructions needed to assemble a care package or complete a project for someone in need. Students spent time in their classes writing positive messages and decorating items that will be sent to less fortunate individuals and help them on their path. We are appreciative of ADM's partnership and willingness to supply these kits to people in need.

Art Club students worked together to design and create our Northbrook Spartan Scarecrow for the Mendota Area Chamber of Commerce’s Scarecrow Competition! Students helped bring our Spartan warrior to life from head to toe, complete with his helmet, spear, shield, cape, and plenty of Northbrook pride.
We had so much fun working together on this project and creating something to represent our school and Art Club in the community. Be sure to keep an eye out for our Spartan scarecrow downtown! ❤️🖤🎨

Our Northbrook sixth graders made the trip to Rockford to watch an Ice Hog's Hockey Game this week! The event is designed for school-aged students and promotes teamwork and perseverance!
