A fantastic opportunity from the Lion's Club!
Mendota 289 School District is pleased to announce that
we will begin using the Raptor Visitor Management System in all of our
schools to strengthen our program of campus safety for students and
staff. Part of keeping students and staff safe is knowing who is in our
buildings at all times and the Raptor system will allow us to do that. The
Raptor system will better allow us to screen visitors, contractors, and
volunteers in our schools and provide us with a safer environment for
our students and staff. Please review the flier for more information about what to expect when visiting our schools.
Wednesday, December 13th the Northbrook Student Council is hosting a cookie decorating party for Northbrook students from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm in the band room. See the flier for more details. Supplies are limited so students should sign up on the band room door by Friday to claim their spot.

Congratulations to the Northbrook Middle School Students of the Month. These students were nominated by their teachers for exhibiting the Spartan Smart core behaviors of effort, respect, and responsibility. Our Spartan Students of the Month are:
5th Grade: Braianna Escatel, Camilla Valencia, Kamilah Raya, Lily Skjodager, and Karessa Brown
6th Grade: Aubri Gonzalez, Kayne Phillips, Jose Chavez Vidal, and Carmen Spitz
7th Grade: Cindy Valdes, Christopher Salazar, Lexie Saylor, Aisaac Arteaga, Lumen Setchell, and Elizandro Orozco
8th Grade: Ignacio Ortega, Abel Nanez, Landen Sutis, and Savannah Lenert
Keeping with fall tradition, 8th grade Enrichment students upcycled well-used crayons and shared their work with the kindergartners at Blackstone. Every student received a handmade gift bag of 🎃-shaped crayons the 8th graders had created by using molds and baking. To continue the tradition, if you have 🖍️ 🖍️ 🖍️ that you no longer use and would like to donate, please deliver them to the Northbrook office, attention Miss Henkel.
Next Week (October 23rd-27th) is Red Ribbon week in our schools. Attached are all of the dress up days for Red Ribbon Spirit Week.
Just a reminder that all Club's Choice Fundraiser orders are due by Monday, October 16th. See the attached flyer for additional information about online ordering, order pick up, and how we plan to use the proceeds from this fundraiser. We appreciate your ongoing support of our students in District 289.
On Wednesday November 1, at 6:00 pm, Holy Cross Will be hosting our 7th and 8th grade boys basketball team at Mendota High School. The attached flyer has a link for shirts. All profits will go toward our local food pantry. We are excited to be invited to such a great local fundraiser!
