Northbrook students are invited to participate in the Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day on Thursday, November 14th. Six year old Ruby Bridges stepped into the history books on November 14, 1960 when she integrated William Frantz Elementary School in New Orleans, becoming a national icon for the civil rights movement. Today her story continues to inspire the next generation of leaders by encouraging students to make positive changes in their communities and schools. Throughout the walk, Mr. Schepper’s and Miss Henkel’s Enrichment Rti groups will be sharing their work to improve the sidewalks for Mendota. The event will bring greater awareness that accessibility is an issue of equity. Students must sign up no later than Monday, Nov. 11th, at the end of the school day.

Check out this fun opportunity for Northbrook students! If you have questions, please contact Maria at 815-539-7459.
